Claim Procedures

What to do if you become aware of a POTENTIAL CLAIM against you:

If any lawyer or other insured under your TLIE policy becomes aware of any act, error, omission or other circumstance which may give rise to a claim, then you should report the matter to TLIE as soon as practicable to preserve your coverage by calling us at one of the phone numbers listed below AND sending written notice of the matter to TLIE at the address listed below.

What to do if an ACTUAL CLAIM is made against you:

If the firm or any lawyer or other insured under your TLIE policy receives notice of an actual claim (e.g., demand, notice, summons or service of process) which might be covered by your TLIE policy, then you should immediately notify TLIE of the claim at the phone number(s) and address listed above.

Suit papers and any other pertinent documents should be provided to TLIE at the earliest possible time so that the claim can be handled thoroughly and promptly, including the retention of defense counsel to file a timely answer on your behalf.
