TLIE Automates the Malpractice Advisory

This issue of Texas Lawyers' Insurance Exchange Legal Malpractice Advisory will be the last printed version of this publication.  However, we will continue to produce the Advisory and it will be available by email and on our redesigned website at http://www.tlie.org.  The purpose and pertinent content of the Advisory will not change as we embrace the capabilities of the Internet.

The reasons for this change in the method of distribution are two fold.  First, the costs of the production continue to increase.  Since we attempt to send a copy of the Advisory to all attorneys who are in the private practice of law, the aggregate cost of postage grows along with the number of attorneys who comprise the bar.  Second, we can get information to you faster by electronic means.  We have had problems with deliveries of our postage paid mail, and are concerned that the combination of production time and postal delays keeps us from getting information to you rapidly.

We believe this change will provide us with more flexibility and a more timely distribution.  We will not be constrained by the limits of the printed page with regard to information we make available to you.

Our next issue is scheduled for mid-March.  We will post the actual date of release on our website which is currently being updated and will be available for viewing by January 1, 2010. You can subscribe by email to our newsletter on the website.  We will send email invitations to join to our existing members with known email addresses.
